A new metro line connecting
Rochester with the inner city has been opened! The line starts at Farsely Park, heading north to Riverbeach west of the Pilegron River, passes under it to
Kittenhill Bedding on
Kittenhill High Street, continuing north to Westhood Street, where people can directly access the
Ferrowfield Union Station. The line heads north again, stopping again at
Ferrowfield Union Station - providing an alternate entrance to the transport hub. The next stop takes us to the
Bexley University, finally creating a stop close to the actual school right at the Womens Contribution to Science Square, before terminating at Bank.
The new tube has been commissioned as
Rochester Downtown Tube Company by the
Rochester District Council and built by the Metrosys Company. Contrary to existing lines, this tube runs right below the water surface, significantly reducing construction costs and allowing for staircase exits instead of entirely relying on elevators. A silly alias has already been thrown around: The Rowton Tube. Let's see if this one sticks?
