The southern part of Northlink is being constructed by the Govcom. The new station houses from west to east a platform for the PaddingtonHammerOriginPortbrynAstokeshire line, two platforms for Creston/BrimptonHammerOriginFerrowfield/Union → Pilebrook and two for east CrestonHammerOriginEnfieldShepton → Barnsely → Thym. The underground building is well lit, has 6 access staircases and is up to standard in terms of safety. The northbound tracks coalescence into two close pairs over the new «Waterhammer Bridge». A special permit had to be granted and the trains must slow down while passing the bridge to ensure safe operation.
