Inverportshire has grown significantly since its first railway station - but the station has not. The current station isn't adequate anymore, and the biggest railway - the Brookes - doesn't connect to the sprawling city centre.
The
Western Railway Expansion Company has been created to resolve this issue. Their office in
Weir station has been busy planning a new railway link for
Inverportshire. The planning board has come up with multiple proposal drafts, outlined here:
Option A: A station right in the center of
Inverportshire, between the two split parts of the city and a smaller station at
Bethany hospital. This proposal cannot be expanded in the central station but serves the city richt at its heart. The construction is not extremely expensive, but requires construction of several tunnels. A new market hall would be built on the site of the current railway in a central location between producers and freight carrying companies.
Option B: Two Stations, upgrading the existing station and adding a new station in Blethergate. This is a grand project, with the opportunity to build a representative railway station, but the construction is complex and expensive. One of the lines would have to terminate at
Rythor - or the recently released "turnout" by
RailLab would have to be used to combine the two rail lines into one running into
Inverportshire.
Option C: A new station outside
Inverportshire. The station is not where the cuty is currently located, but this usually leads to development around the station, shifting the city center towards Pilegron. This requires minimal destruction and is the cheapest option to implement. Spare room can be allocated to allow the station to grow in the future.
Option D: A station on Oachard has been reviewed but further connections to the west would be too difficult to build.
