An architecture official has been posted for the new Pilegron Rail Company central administration building in
Ferrowfield. Any designs may now be submitted to the
Law House in
Hornaby. The
Pilegron News got an exclusive collection of the first few submissions, as follows.
Submission by
Lloyd Architecture Company (
Paddington) based on the 1921 Main Post Office of chicago
The Lloyd submission aims to create a big, central structure which holds all of the required administration, especially in the future. Some of the are within the building would be allocated for mail, as this would reduce the load on the current center nearby, by not requiring the trains to shunt. Platforms would be moved back, with the easternmost rail sitting where the southbound track from the
Origin Main Station is. The building would also extend the station to be able to fit the planned express trains to the southern port. A grand central entrance would lead to the main station are with ticket booths, waiting areas and the underground alleys connecting the platforms. The building would overlook
Ferrowfield. A track for post would be directly connected to the main line, being routed through the building.
