Arcadia Hueffer had always been drawn to the intricate workings of machines. Even as a child, she would spend hours tinkering with discarded cogs and springs, piecing together makeshift contraptions from scraps found in the alley behind her family's bakery. This fascination blossomed into a lifelong passion for engineering, leading Arcadia to apprentice under the gruff but brilliant master smith who resided on Blacksmith's outskirts.
She believed that ingenuity could solve any problem, improve any situation. This conviction fuelled her tireless pursuit of knowledge, poring over dusty tomes in the dimly lit library above the apothecary and sketching intricate designs in the margins of her worn notebooks. Arcadia's mind was a whirlwind of ideas – cog-driven automatons that could perform household chores, steam-powered carriages capable of traversing mountainous terrain, even fantastical flying machines that defied gravity itself.
Though some dismissed her dreams as mere flights of fancy, Arcadia remained undeterred. She saw the potential for progress in every gear, every lever, every intricate mechanism. For Arcadia, engineering was not just a profession but a calling, a way to shape the world into something better, more efficient, and ultimately, more wondrous.
