Felix, patient and kind, answered each one thoroughly, sparking a shared passion for history between them. Their unlikely friendship blossomed as they spent afternoons poring over maps, weaving tales of past civilizations, and dreaming of grand adventures.

Garth Campbell was looking for some antique wood for his latest project, an oak bookshelf for his daughter Thea’s room. He found himself at “Wilkes & Sons”, a family-owned carpentry and antique shop run by Felix Wilkes and his parents. As Garth perused the shelves of reclaimed lumber, he noticed Felix carefully organizing and labelling each piece. Impressed by Felix's meticulous approach, Garth struck up a conversation. Felix, eager to learn about woodworking from an experienced craftsman like Garth, readily shared his knowledge and passion for restoring old wood. They bonded over their shared love for craftsmanship, sustainability, and the beauty of giving old objects new life. Recognizing Felix's keen eye for detail and organizational skills, Garth invited Felix to assist him on a community project to renovate an abandoned community center.
