Connemara Borough was founded in 1897 during the Great Inverportshire Expansion. The de-facto city state was looking for alternatives to its trade based economy and thus tried to diversify. Along with the Abyssinian Wharf and the Rythoria University, the city tried to attract wealthy residents in order to develop the barren lands in to its north. Therefore, Count Rythor initiated a big marketing campaign, advertising with undeveloped plots, views and beaches in a time where Pilegron was growing fast and prioritising cheap workers housing. The campaign turned out to be semi successful, with mostly vacation houses being built, not attracting enough permanent residents and lacking substantial small businesses and manifactures. The region’s beaches and it’s proximity to the Elim Isles did increase day trip visitors and the gastronomy sector profited greatly. A small fishing port on the west side developed in the early 1900’s.
