Tensions between
Hammer,
New Republic and
Danue have risen just like the buildings in
Kowloon. All three districts want the area, but they have taken different approaches to handling the situation.
Danue takes an agressive stand: They want to tear down the buildings and replace the area with new, high-class homes - as is the style in the area. A street change would be possible too, filling the odd green area right south of
Kowloon.
Hammer does not like
Kowloon - to put it mildly. They want to replace the buildings with more banking facilities, and flesh out
Hammer square into a proper center of finance and banking. The alternative and "experimental building style" does not fit into this equation very well.
New Republic is different:
Kowloon somehow fits into it's pool of small and simple houses, where everyday people live for fair rent - far off the fancy streets of
Hammer and
Danue. In a soft approach to annex the area,
New Republic has just released some land to the
Kowloon people, guaranteeing them the same regulatory freedom they enjoy now. This land is leased to the people as Property #
382f5596 for 25 years - after which, a new lease has to be negotiated. The plot of
Lars's Townhouse has been redrawn to make room for the
Kowloon Lease propery, which has lead to criticism from the historical community.
New Republic argues that it is in their right to redraw the park part of the historic building, considering that the building was not built on the current site anyways.
All parties try to avoid a conflict.
